Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Rainforest Club mission?

The Rainforest Club is building a Green Wall of Protection to help end deforestation. And together with you we keeping the forest standing for our global community. We are united by the same purpose: protecting the environment.

This is NOT just fundraising money for conservation efforts. This is ownership of the actual real estate in the Amazon Rainforest.

The Amazon rainforest covers an enormous 6.7 million square kilometres, more than half the size of the USA. It would be impossible to buy up all the land in the rainforest, and to then protect it all. But there’s no need; the key is to protect the threatened borders which are being eroded by human deforestation activities, predominantly in Brazil.

Our goal, with your help, is to buy these threatened borders and protect them through both satellite monitoring and active on-the-ground surveillance and reporting to the authorities. These now protected borders are known as the “Green Wall” on the rim of the Amazon Rainforest. Around 15 million hectares are necessary to build this Green Wall. These hectares are currently owned by large agricultural producers or private landowners.

Our project aim is to divide and sell this land off in small parcels, to you, so the proceeds can be reinvested into buying the next million hectares, then the next million hectares. Little by little, we can create the protected Green Wall and end deforestation in the Amazon Rainforest. And once the land is subdivided and sold off to millions of owners around the world, it can never be bought again and reassembled for deforestation or development ever again.

This is the best gift you’ll ever give or receive. A humanitarian gift to help save the Rainforest and help save the planet.

Where is the land located?

The Land is located within The Rainforest Community Estate, south of the Rio São Benedito II on the edge of the Amazon Rainforest, district of Jacareacanga, state of Pará, 68195-000, Brazil.

Google Maps coordinates to the centre of the estate are -9.168060, -56.429645

Can you tell more about the land area?

Jacareacanga is a municipality in the state of Pará in the Northern region of Brazil. It is at the very centre of South America, and the gateway to the Brazilian amazon Rainforest.

The municipality of Jacareacanga contains the Crepori National Forest extending to some 739,806 hectares (1,828,100 acres), 14% of the Tapajós Environmental Protection Area extending to some 1,988,445 hectares (4,913,550 acres), and part of the Amaná National Forest, a 539,571 hectares (1,333,310 acres) sustainable use conservation unit, all created in 2006 as part of the joint South American conservation efforts.

The municipality is also home to the Sai Cinza Indigenous Territory, established in 1991 and extending some 126,000 hectares (310,000 acres), and part of the Mundurucu Indigenous Territory, established in 2004 and extending some 2,382,000 hectares (5,890,000 acres).

The indigenous communities are contained within territories protected by treaties to maintain their livelihoods and traditions. The Rainforest Club Land has been carefully selected and authorised by the Brazilian Government to ensure our land ownership is not within (or even near) any borders with the indigenous territories.

The land is located south of the Rio São Benedito II in the state of Pará, Amazon Rainforest. Access to the estate is from Alta Floresta in the neighbouring Mato Grosso state in the Central West region of Brazil. The Rio São Benedito II river is a tributary of the large rio Teles Pires, and has been protected since 2001 as part of a state sport-fishing reserve. There are two fishing lodges on the river, both of interest to the travelling birdwatcher as they are excellent locations to find the bizarre, recently-described Bald Parrot.

How can I enjoy the land?

You are welcome to visit the Estate and your land for recreational purposes at any time. We recommend you make your own arrangements through an experienced travel guide, as the terrain can be tough and security is paramount. If you intend to visit, we recommend you use a local guide. You are free to walk, picnic, take photos, and enjoy the tranquillity. Children and pets are welcome provided they're well behaved. You can enjoy dog walking, watching the river, enjoying the trees, and lots of peace and quiet. You are encouraged to bring trees and shrubs to plant, leave a painted rock or wooden sign, or to scatter the ashes of your loved ones. Vehicular access is not permitted, only pedestrian access is allowed. Also, no commercial activity of any kind is permitted.

How to find my plot of land?

The overall estate is defined using Google Map coordinates to the centre. Each plot of land has its own unique reference number, and we maintain a comprehensive register. It is challenging to exactly find the souvenir plots, even if using the latest technology. The plots of land are not specifically marked out, however you are free to delineate it yourself with biodegradable material, painted rocks or similar.

Can I bring items to leave on the plot of land?

You are free to mark your plot of land with biodegradable material, or painted rocks or similar. If you intend to bring any non-biodegradable items with you when you visit, then we ask that you please take them away with you when you leave.

Should I be worried about any ongoing fees or other costs?

Your purchase through our website is a one-off payment, with nothing more to pay at all. The land will then be yours forever, and able to be passed down to your heirs, with no future payments ever needed. There are no land or real estate taxes to worry about.

Can I gift this to a friend or relative?

Many of the packs we sell are intended as gifts. When you purchase via the website, tell us the name and details of your lucky friend or relative in the box provided. The name can be whatever you like, but we do encourage you to tell us their full name. You can have this shipped directly to the recipient if you wish, we do not provide any cost or invoice details with our packs.

Are there any minimum age to receive a pack?

There is no minimum age requirement to receive a Land Ownership Pack. Orders can be placed by anyone (subject to credit card owners permission), and be the recipient of a Land Ownership Pack.

If I order more than one piece of land, are they located side by side?

We allocate plots in a sequential row, so if you order at the same time then they will be sequentially allocated one after the other. If you order at different times then they will not be beside each other as the next plot will likely have been sold to someone else. We can help to reallocate plots to be beside each other though, all you need to do is email us at info@TheRainforestClub.com and we can help you with this.

Can I update the name of the land ownership? (for example if I'm getting married)

Please contact us to discuss. We can help with this, and issue you with a new Digital Pack with your updated name. There are replacement Printed Packs available to purchase via our website.

Can the plot of land be officially registered in my name?

These small plots of land are registered via our partners with the Brazilian Government. We do not register your plot in your own name with the Brazilian Government, but we issue you with a contract of sale which is enforceable in law, and gives you a de-facto ownership of your plot of land. We keep a Land Register, and your certificate proves your ownership. If you wish to register your plot of land with the Brazilian Government then you are free to do so, at your own cost.

Passing on your Land Ownership Pack to your heirs via your Will

This plot of land is an inheritable asset. The ownership can be passed down to anyone to inherit via your Will. Your heir can contact us to discuss updating the documents and issuing a new pack in their name.

How are the plot sizes measured?

Our plot of land sizes are measured per square foot. A square foot is part of the old Imperial Measurement System which was still used widely throughout the world. 1 square meter is roughly 10.764 square feet; 1 square foot is roughly 30 centimetres x 30 centimetres
